MANDATORY for one Parent of every player: Respect in Sport for Parents is a 1 hour online program geared towards providing the parent with information on how to evaluate and understand the hockey environment and to protect children when they are out of your immediate control. The program highlights “behavioural traps” and touches on the subjects of nutrition, rest, injuries, and dealing with coaches, officials and other parents. Find out more and register using Respect in Sport – Parent Program. This program does not fulfill the requirements for volunteer/coach accreditation. Cost is $12.
Speak Out or Respect in Sport (Speak Out equivalent) for all Team OfficialsThis anti abuse and harassment course is required for all on-ice volunteers and all team staff. Go to GTHL Canada – Becoming a Coach to read more and to register and take the course on-line. Cost is $30 plus HST.
Gender Inclusiveness Training for all Team Officials is required by the OHF. This is a free online program, one time. Go to Gender Inclusiveness Training to read and register.
Coach 2 Level for HL & Select Head Coaches is the certification required by Hockey Canada for house league head coaches. This course includes some on-line, some in class and a 90 minute on-ice session. Go to GTHL Canada – Becoming a Coach for more information and to register.,
